Lance Unglesby
Partner/Trial Attorney

Lance started his career as a public defender in New Orleans right after Hurricane Katrina. The office was decimated after Katrina, and at the time, the New Orleans police department was known for its corruption. The public defenders’ office was in dire need of top trial lawyers, and just as important, someone who was willing to bring awareness to and fight the corrupted system. During his time there, Lance did just that. It became one of the elite public defender offices in the country, and Lance was considered one of the best trial lawyers in the office who handled some of the most high-profile cases. He obtained over 50 not guilty verdicts, including the acquittal of 5 individuals who had been wrongly accused of murder.

After working as a public defender, Lance continued to serve underrepresented people in dire need of help. He spent the next five years working as a death penalty lawyer where he was successful in reaching non-death outcomes in all of his cases.

Lance then joined up with his father, legendary trial attorney Lewis Unglesby, and began taking on corporations that had wronged individuals. Together they have obtained some of the highest verdicts in Louisiana history.

Lance has made appearances on CNN, NBC, MSNBC and all local news media. Lance is aproud honoree of the annual 2023 Cure by Design event hosted by the American Cancer Society. “Cancer scares all of us and we all hope we never get it. But no man should ever make a decision knowing it could increase another man’s risk of getting it.”

Lance looks forward to spending the remainder of his career fighting for individuals and obtaining justice by connecting with jurors and trying lawsuits across the country.
